I credit my father with sparking my interest in puppetry. When I was small, he would tell me stories and act them out using my stuffed animals and a variety of character voices (many of them spot-on Sesame Street(TM) impressions).

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was six, and the skill has come in very handy over the years. It resurfaced when I was approached to create some puppets for a local theatre production. Always a huge fan of the Muppets, I jumped at the chance to create characters inspired by that style.
In 2010, I began to design the curriculum and teach the Puppetry classes offered at the Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts. Teaching this program has inspired me to write a book offering techniques and lesson plans for integrating puppetry into the language arts and social studies classrooms. Stay tuned for progress on this project as it develops.

By far, Zsu Zsu is my favorite puppet I've created. She is the epitome of optimism, overly excited by EVERYTHING, and a genuine delight to portray.
