"Look around, look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now."

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Lin-Manuel Miranda and his work. I really enjoyed the diversity of In the Heights but my obsession truly kicked in over Hamilton. The history-meets-hip hop musical that swept the 2016 Tony's is beyond brilliant. But even beyond his musical mastery, Lin-Manuel Miranda just seems like a genuinely nice human being who is hopelessly in love with his wife, adores his son, and still walks his dog every morning. I've listened and watched far more interviews than I care to admit of Lin-Manuel discussing his work. I'm also a follower of his on Twitter, and I can honestly say that following LMM on Twitter has made me a better person.
Before you think I'm just an obsessive fangirl, let me explain: LMM's Twitter feed is so ridiculously optimistic, it makes me want to shine that positively in the world as well. Nearly every morning, he says "Good morning" and starts the day on a positive note. Nearly every night he wishes the interwebs "good night" and reminds us that the day wasn't that bad, and we are in control of tomorrow.
In a world flooded with negativity and strife, don't we deserve to create as many oasis-es as possible for love and light and truth?
So many of my days I feel stuck on a negative mental playlist. I stop and I think, "You know, I can choose to see love instead of this." How would my life change if instead I woke up and thought, "Good morning, Ohio! We are awesome. Let's do this."
I vow to always seize the light when it comes my way. And I thank Lin-Manuel Miranda for not only sharing his artistic genius with the world, but for sharing his positive outlook and light as well.
